Blackburn extended their unbeaten sequence to seven with a 2-2 draw at Brentford on Saturday and can edge closer to the Championship promotion race by defeating Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

Rovers trail their hosts by two points but are putting together a decent run and feel they can compete against anyone in the division.

They were clear underdogs at Brentford but claimed a deserved point despite the 36th-minute dismissal of defender Darragh Lenihan.

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray has to make do without the suspended Lenihan and injured centre-back Scott Wharton, who was forced off at the weekend.

But his makeshift backline coped well on Saturday and Rovers will carry a substantial threat with 14-goal top scorer Adam Armstrong spearheading their attack.

Mowbray's free-scoring side have netted at least two goals in eight of their last ten matches and another strong attacking performance can see off City, who have bagged just seven home goals this season, the fewest among teams in the top half.
