Brentford approach the end of 2020 on a 15-match unbeaten sequence and look the likely winners of their key promotion battle with Bournemouth.

It took a while for the Bees to recover from their 2-1 loss to Fulham in last season's Championship playoff final. The season started less than six weeks after their Wembley defeat and there were signs of a hangover with Brentford winning just four of their first 12 league matches.

However high-profile summer signing Ivan Toney has been a huge hit, scoring 16 goals, and Brentford's wide forwards have come to the party in recent games with Bryan Mbeumo netting twice in the 3-1 success at home to Reading and Sergi Canos bagging a hat-trick in Saturday's 3-2 success at Cardiff.

Bournemouth can expect a tough game and might be rusty having not played since a 0-0 draw at Luton on December 19.

The Cherries have lost just one league match this season but another reverse may be on the cards in west London.
