Leicester City are 11-10 to finish in the top half of the Premier League after Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers agreed to become their new manager.

The Foxes moved for the Northern Irishman after dismissing Claude Puel in the wake of their 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday and Neil Lennon is expected to fill the vacancy at Celtic Park.

Celtic were knocked out of the Europa League by Valencia last week but have an eight-point lead in the Scottish Premiership, which they are 1-16 to win.

Rodgers joined the Scottish club in the summer of 2016 and returns to the Premier League where he had tenures with Swansea City and Liverpool.

Verdict

Rodgers is well-versed in guiding teams to Premier League success, finishing second with Liverpool in 2013-14 and getting the best out of a top attacking talent in Luis Suarez, who finished with 31 goals that term.

Some would argue the Reds should have won the title that campaign and the 46-year-old will be keen to prove his doubters wrong upon his return to England.

Rodgers achieved domestic trebles in 2016-17 and 2017-18 with Celtic and built his side around free-flowing, expressive football, which is perfectly suited to a Leicester team blessed with a plethora of attacking talents yet to reach top gear.

His nurturing approach to management got the best out of English talents Scott Sinclair and Joe Allen and he could have a similar impact on the likes of developing youngsters James Maddison, Demarai Gray and Hamza Choudhury at City.
