Bradford and Scunthorpe may settle for a point
Bantams struggle for goals
Sky Bet League One
Sky Sports 1, 12.30pm Sunday
Just two points separate Scunthorpe and Bradford in the Sky Bet League One playoff places but recent form points to the visitors making an impression at Glanford Park.
Bradford are unbeaten in their last seven matches and are still in with a squeak of automatic promotion, although Stuart McCall's main focus is on making sure that the Bantams seal a playoff spot.
Scunthorpe set the early pace in League One and occupied the top spot for longer than any other side but they have nosedived spectacularly since suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Southend at the beginning of February.
That loss sparked a nine-match winless run which ended when the Lincolnshire outfit beat Rochdale in their last home match but they slumped again when going down 2-1 at Oxford.
Iron boss Graham Alexander saw his side narrowly miss out on a top-six berth last season and he must be fearing a repeat with Scunthorpe now looking unsure of staying in the hunt.
Bradford dominated Swindon in their last outing and a 2-1 scoreline probably didn't reflect that. The Bantams had 19 shots to Swindon's five and should have scored more.
That has proved to be their Achilles heel for much of this season, however, as they have scored the fewest goals of any side in League One's top eight.
The addition of striker Charlie Wyke - who has scored six goals in ten appearances - in the January transfer window has helped to address that but all of those strikes have come at Valley Parade and McCall's men are more expansive on their home turf.
With the stakes high, both sides are likely to be cautious as they still occupy playoff places. Scunthorpe won't want to forfeit any more ground while Bradford are also seeking to solidify their position. They could end up sharing the spoils.
