Scottish football preview

Dunfermline have turned the corner after what had been a miserable season and can continue their playoff push with a win against travel-sick Morton.

The Pars looked like they were starting to lose faith in manager Stevie Crawford after a campaign which promised much but delivered little in the Ladbrokes Championship.

But recently they have produced a couple of excellent displays to hammer Partick Thistle, who admittedly were playing for most of the game with ten men, 5-1 and they followed that up with a splendid win at Somerset Park against Ayr United.

They have also won their last three games at their East End Park ground against Arbroath, Queen of the South and Ayr.

They are up against a Morton team who boast a consistent road record - they have played seven league games away from Greenock and lost them all.

The Cappielow side could also have done without a marathon midweek journey north to play Highland League side Brora Rangers in the William Hill Scottish Cup.

In-form Kevin Nisbet has nine goals in his last six games and Ton could push that into double figures.

Falkirk look like they are at last living up to their billing as Ladbrokes League One title favourites after the appointment of David McCracken and Lee Miller and they can beat a struggling East Fife side in Methil.

The Bairns' squad is crammed full of players who shouldn't be in the third tier of Scottish football, yet they have made it incredibly tough for themselves.

However, they have netted seven goals in their two games since Ray McKinnon was sacked and appear to have regained their confidence, with Declan McManus netting in each of their last four games.

In contrast, Fife were stunned by their cup defeat to Lowland League side BSC Glasgow and were thumped at Airdrie last week. Falkirk can add to their gloom at New Bayview.

Staying in Fife, Airdrie are a big price to win at Raith Rovers in a top- of-the-table League One clash at Kirkcaldy.

The Diamonds are now on a six-in-a-row winning streak in all competitions and they are also strong away from their Lanarkshire base - they have won six out of seven away league games.

Rovers have been hit by injuries to key players this season and Airdrie are well worth a punt.
