Hibernian and St Mirren should do the business in Scottish League Cup

Matches start 7.45pm Tuesday

On a night when finding any kind of value in the Betfred Cup is extremely difficult, it could pay to double up Hibernian and St Mirren.

Of the 11 ties, the only game that has both sides at odds-against is Raith Rovers v Peterhead in Kirkcaldy.

Two Ladbrokes Premiership sides who have something to prove are Hibs and St Mirren and they can be doubled up for a shade-over-evens shot.

Hibernian have yet to catch fire in this competition but they are creating plenty of chances. There will be a side who take a hammering from them soon and it could be Arbroath at Easter Road.

Dick Campbell's newly-promoted Ladbrokes Championship side have chalked up two wins in the competition but a trip to Leith is a different proposition and Hibs should oblige.

St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin has endured a dreadful start to his new role after a woeful goalless draw at Lowland League side East Kilbride on Saturday, and they even lost the penalty shootout.

They will be desperate to make amends for that in a game they must win and Ladbrokes League Two side Albion Rovers, who crashed to a 6-0 defeat at Dunfermline in their last game, look likely to provide the Paisley men with an opportunity to regain their confidence.

Recommendation
Hibernian 2-5, St Mirren 4-9
