Havant & Waterlooville were emphatic 7-0 winners on Tuesday, but could return to their struggling ways when they welcome Halifax to West Leigh Park in the National League.

That was only their third win of the season and the score certainly flatters the Hawks, after Maidenhead goalkeeper Carl Pentney was sent off in the 36th minute and defender Alan Massey had to go between the sticks for the rest of the match.

Halifax haven’t been much better and are without a win in their last 11, but have drawn seven of those and look to be on the right track after holding high-flying Solihull Moors.

The Shaymen have been defensively sound and look good value to hand Havant their 11th loss of the season.

Fellow strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time this season after beating Dover 2-0 on Tuesday and can build on that with a point at Sutton.

The Daggers came away with a shock victory over Harrogate last week and have shown signs of stability since coming under new ownership, while Paul Doswell’s side have had their inconsistencies at home, winning just three of eight matches.

This could be closer than expected, and a share of the spoils seems a good bet here.
