Belgian champions Club Brugge are in pole position to defend their Jupiler League crown and victory against third-placed Zulte Waregem would give them a three-point cushion on their nearest pursuers.

Anderlecht are shaping like Brugge’s biggest threat but they don’t play Genk until Sunday afternoon, giving Michel Preud’homme’s men the perfect opportunity to stamp their authority on the division.

Zulte trail Brugge by five points and defeat for them this evening should end their chance of clinching their first top-flight title.

The hosts are unbeaten at the Jan Breydel Stadium in 23 games but the 2-5 on offer is far from appealing and a safer, more rewarding alternative could be supporting both teams to score.

The visitors’ away games this term have been full of excitement and Francky Dury’s crew have notched 23 times from their 12 outings.

Only Anderlecht have scored more on their travels and with Brugge averaging 2.5 goals per game on home soil, 20-23 on both to find the net may be value.

Brugge boast the best defence in the country but they have kept just two clean sheets in their last ten home games and, with the impetus on Waregem to attack, this highly-anticipated encounter should throw up goals.
