Chelsea must do better in all areas of the pitch if they are to feature among the title contenders and they can show off improved powers of resistance by keeping a clean sheet against West Ham at Stamford Bridge tonight.
Last season’s 2-2 draw at home to Swansea on the opening weekend was an early indicator that Chelsea had problems at the back and would be in for a rocky ride.
However, they have got off to winning starts in each of the previous three campaigns – conceding just one goal in the process – and are 7-10 to beat a Hammers side hoping to make an impact in their first season at the Olympic Stadium.
