Copa Sudamericana final second leg
11.45pm Wednesday

Atletico PR got the job half done in Barranquilla in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final and they can finish off Colombian powers Junior in the return in Curitiba.

Paranaense are a real power at the Arena da Baixada this season and that has to give them a significant edge.

The Brazilians boasted one of the best home records in Serie A in the season just finished and have won 15 of their last 17 in front of their own fans in all competitions.

Junior will be stronger in terms of personnel than they were for the first leg last Wednesday, a match which finished 1-1.

Left-back Gabriel Fuentes and striker Teo Gutierrez were absentees last week following red cards in the second leg of their semi against compatriots Santa Fe. That match, incidentally, produced four red cards and seven yellow cards, merely confirming that controversy hasn't been limited to just the Copa Libertadores this season.

With Gutierrez back, Junior will at least offer a threat on the counter and the Colombians are a classy outfit.

But Tiago Nunes has been doing a phenomenal job in Curitiba with Paranaense and the way they saw off Fluminense in the semis – winning 2-0 at home and 2-0 away – was pretty impressive.

Junior were knocked out in the quarters in 2016, the semis in 2017 and now face defeat in the final in 2018.
