Semi-finals 7.45pm Tuesday

Ashton United have had some bad experiences in the Northern Premier playoffs but they look the right favourites this season.

The club from Ashton-under-Lyne missed out in the post-season in three successive seasons from 2013-14 to 2015-16, twice going out on penalties. But they bounced back from last season's disappointing mid-table finish to snatch second this term, albeit 13 points behind champions Altrincham.

The promoted side looks likely to come from their home semi-final against fifth-placed Farsley, who finished the campaign more strongly than fellow qualifiers Warrington and Grantham. Third-placed Warrington have home advantage in that clash.

Northern Premier promotion - Betway: 15-8 Ashton United, 5-2 Warrington, 100-30 Farsley Celtic, Grantham.

Recommendation
Ashton United to be promoted
