Ashley Young odds-on to gatecrash World Cup squad
Dele Alli's place seems safe despite Lingard's form
England completed their latest round of friendlies with a 1-1 draw against Italy with Dele Alli left on the bench, but the Tottenham midfielder seems certain to figure in Gareth Southgate's World Cup plans.
Gareth Southgate used 16 players in the Wembley draw but Alli did not feature and was limited to a 26-minute cameo off the bench in Friday's win over Holland.
Jesse Lingard, who started both games, is providing Alli with intense competition, but the Tottenham man is a best-priced 1-16 to board the plane to Russia and 1-4 to start the first game against Tunisia.
Ashley Young completed the full match – playing in the left and right wing-back positions – and looks increasingly likely to feature this summer.
Before the start of the international break, bet365 offered 11-8 that Young makes the squad but have slashed that price to 1-2.
Panama will be England's second opponents this summer and might not put up much resistance if they fail to improve significantly on Tuesday's 6-0 loss to Switzerland in Lucerne.
Sky Bet responded by easing them from 40-1 to 50-1 to reach the World Cup quarter-finals.
Hills have trimmed Spain from 7-1 to 13-2 to lift the trophy after Julen Lopetegui's side thumped Argentina 6-1 in Madrid.
Argentina, who were without injured talisman Lionel Messi, have been eased to a best-priced 10-1.
Brazil gained some revenge for their 7-1 loss to Germany at the 2014 World Cup semi-finals by winning 1-0 in Berlin.
Gabriel Jesus's goal settled the match in favour of the south Americans but Germany and Brazil remain 9-2 joint-favourites to lift the trophy.
