Ajax set for further away-day success

With just 12 games of the Dutch season remaining, Ajax can
ill-afford to fall further behind Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord as they prepare for a second away trip in four days.

After a goalless Europa League draw at Legia Warsaw, Peter Bosz’s side travel to seventh-placed Vitesse Arnhem seeking to cut the deficit to two points, before the leaders take on Den Haag later in the day.

Bookmakers believe they will hold up their end of the bargain at the GerleDome and as they boast the best away record in Holland’s top flight they are difficult to dismiss.

Ajax have taken 26 points from a possible 33 on the road this season with their only defeat coming at FC Twente in December when they bossed the possession and shot stats before succumbing to a last-minute penalty.

Since returning to league action on January 15, Ajax have rattled off a perfect five successive victories, of which four have been to nil.
Vitesse will have to improve dramatically on their last home outing to challenge their illustrious visitors.

An abject 2-0 defeat to a limited Willem II side was hardly great preparation for this daunting clash.

That said they are not a forlorn hope on home soil. Vitesse beat Feyenoord in the cup on their own patch three weeks ago and held out for a long time in the 1-0 defeat to Ajax in Amsterdam.

However, Ajax look to have the bit between their teeth and are the best option at the prices to enhance their fine away record.
