Birmingham v Wigan

League One champions Wigan have shown they can compete in the Championship with three successive draws and they have a great chance to pick up their first win of the season at Birmingham.

Latics boss Leam Richardson has been patient in the transfer market and will be on the lookout for a few more additions before deadline day.

In any case, several of Richardson's players seem to be coping just fine with the step up and, having drawn 1-1 at Norwich in their last away game, they should have no fears of facing Birmingham.

It has been a difficult summer for the Blues with takeover talk failing to bear any fruit and their inexperienced manager John Eustace has been forced to rely heavily on younger players.

England Under-18 midfielder George Hall is one of the Blues' brighter academy products and scored his first senior goal in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at home to Watford.

However, Birmingham were unconvincing in defeat at Cardiff last Saturday and Wigan may have the measure of them.

Barnsley v Wycombe

Barnsley took a while to clear their heads after relegation from the Championship but they have stepped up in recent games and should be too strong for Wycombe at Oakwell.

Michael Duff's Tykes were unlucky to lose 2-1 at Derby last Saturday and they responded with a convincing 3-0 success at home to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday.

They should stay on the winning trail against injury-hit Wycombe, who have suffered three successive league defeats since a 3-0 victory at home to Burton in their opening match.

Fleetwood v Derby

Promotion hopefuls Derby are still awaiting their first away win of the League One season but it could arrive when they travel to Fleetwood on Saturday.

The Rams have had good spells during their 1-0 defeat at Charlton and goalless draw with Shrewsbury and they could convert their promising build-up play into goals against the Cod Army, who have won just one of their last 12 home league fixtures.

Colchester v Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient dropped their first points of the League Two campaign when drawing 1-1 at Swindon on Tuesday, but they have a great chance to bounce back with victory at Colchester.

The O's should be backed by a large away following in Essex and they can keep their supporters happy by toppling an unconvincing Colchester side who have scored just three goals in their last four matches.

Crawley v Wimbledon

Wimbledon's unbeaten start to League Two came to an end with a 5-2 defeat at Mansfield on Tuesday, but the Wombles can respond with a victory over Crawley in West Sussex.

The Wombles lost right-back Chris Gunter to a first-half red card in midweek but a more disciplined effort can secure the spoils against Crawley, who are third from bottom with one point from four games.

Doncaster attacker Lee Tomlin has had fitness issues but he is a quality player in League Two and could open the scoring against Salford.
