Tournament preview

All aboard The Asp as the autumnal darting express arrives in Amsterdam, where the World Series Finals promises to be a belter.

Five international events earlier in the year have determined the seedings for this 24-man event at the AFAS Live.

And even though Nathan Aspinall is not one of the elite eight excused first-round action, he's playing well enough to come through a high-class field.

The Ladbrokes UK Open champion first has to get past the dangerous Krysztof Ratajski over 11 legs to set up a meeting with fourth seed Daryl Gurney.

The draw, though, is tough for everyone and even top seed Michael van Gerwen hasn't been spared. In round two he is drawn to meet Gerwyn Price or Michael Smith.

Rob Cross, winner of the European Championship last week, is the second favourite and should make the semis.

In the bottom half, Jeffrey de Zwaan, who threw well at last week's Euros, will have the crowd right behind him.

Gabriel Clemens can see off inconsistent Jermaine Wattimena in round one.
