Day three
Sky Sports Action, midday and 6pm

Ageing arrers fans will be purring over Paul Lim’s performance in round one of the World Cup of Darts in Hamburg and the old dog might have another trick or two up his sleeve.

The 65-year-old and partner Harith Lim (they aren’t related) stunned Wales on night one and the Singapore slingers definitely have the game to take care of Japan over a longer format.

The Lims averaged over 92 against the Welsh with doubts over Harith’s ability to contribute proving unfounded.

Round two features two best-of-seven singles matches and if the match result is 1-1 then they’ll have a best-of-seven doubles dust-up. And on the evidence of Thursday night, the Lims, whichever way round they play their singles, can outgun Seigo Asada and Haruki Muramatsu and even if they were to need the doubles to decide the tie, they still look the stronger duo.

Elsewhere, Belgium merit slight favouritism against the hosts Germany while Scotland will surely dish out a 2-0 hammering to Sweden. Dennis Nilsson and Magnus Caris should be no match for Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, who averaged over 101 in their opening whitewash of the Danes.
