What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event starts on Friday April 17 and will be streamed on bookmaker websites and features a host of big names.

Each session starts at 7.30 and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-nine legs. The 32 group winners will progress through to the next phase.

Wednesday's PDC Home Tour Group 20 preview

Joe Cullen looked set to do battle with Jeffrey de Zwaan for top spot in Group 20 of the PDC Home Tour before the Dutch darter withdrew from the tournament on Monday with a shoulder injury, writes Joe Champion.

The PDC found a more-than-capable replacement in fellow Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena and it could be worth backing the super-sub to advance from the section.

Cullen and Wattimena are joined in Group 20 by Greek veteran John Michael and Q-School graduate Ryan Murray but this looks set to be a battle between the top two in the market.

PDC number 17 Cullen is a former European Championship semi-finalist and a worthy favourite.

However, Wattimena, who took Netherlands to the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup alongside Michael van Gerwen, will take heart from a 4-1 head-to-head record against Cullen.

Michael is a 15-time Greek national champion but has achieved little in the PDC.

He is unlikely to top the group but he has beaten Daryl Gurney and Jeff Smith in recent months and could prove too solid for Murray, who is still finding his feet after earning his tour card in January.
