What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event starts on Friday, April 17 and will be streamed on bookmaker websites and features a host of big names.

Each session starts at 7.30 and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-nine legs. The 32 group winners will progress through to the next phase.

Just nine groups remain in the opening phase of the PDC Home Tour but it doesn't get any easier to decipher for punters.

Some of the best players in the world have fallen by the wayside from the confines of their own kitchens and living rooms across the world, including the current world champion, a double Grand Slam champ and multiple Major victor.

There are none of those toeing the oche this evening but there are three BDO converts starting to make a name for themselves on the PDC tour.

Krzysztof Ratajski, Jamie Hughes and Darius Labanauskas have all reached major quarter-finals in recent months with the latter making it to the last eight at Ally Pally before running into Michael van Gerwen.

Ratajski is the group favourite and perhaps worthily so having won his fifth Pro Tour event in February and rising to 18th in the world rankings.

However, the format of the Home Tour looks ideal for Hughes, who tends to excel in floor events.

Yozza posted lofty average after lofty average when he won his tour card in January 2019 and in March this year he reached the last eight of the UK Open.
