Free darts tips, best bets and analysis for Tuesday's PDC Home Tour playoffs Group Eight.

What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event has now reached the second stage and will be streamed on bookmaker websites.

Each session starts at 7.30pm and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-11 legs. The eight group winners will progress through to the next phase.

That last eight will be two groups of four and the top two in each will provide the four-person Championship group which will determine the overall competition winner.

It's the final group of the second phase of the PDC Home Tour and it can be dominated by Jonny Clayton.

Clayton is capable of some top-notch darts on the Pro Tour, and while he hasn't always produced his best on the big stage, there's no baying crowd in the spare room.

The Ferret managed solid averages against David Pallett, Richard North and Adam Hunt in Group Eight and although he can certainly up those numbers, it's debatable if he'll even need to do much more in this section.

Max Hopp is highly touted, but the German is more miss than hit and could barely reach a 90 average in the previous round, while Scott Waites has the back class but wins over Jan Dekker and Jonathan Worsley hardly set the pulse racing. Scotty 2 Hotty was cooled by Dave Chisnall and it could be the same story against Clayton.

Carl Wilkinson's performances against Callan Rydz and Matthew Edgar catch the eye but it remains to be seen if they can be reproduced with a bit of expectation now attached to Wilky.

Clayton is rated a 13-8 chance with Betfair and Paddy Power and that looks a price worth taking.
