Matchplay champion Michael van Gerwen can continue his sizzling summer streak by taking the honours at the Ladbrokes Sydney Darts Masters which is due to start at 10am this morning, UK and Ireland time.

A month after barely putting a flight wrong in Blackpool, world number one Van Gerwen is hard to oppose in Sydney.

In the other half of the draw to Phil Taylor – who has won all three previous Sydney arrers fests – and Gary Anderson, the Dutchman, who is as short as 4-5, can breeze into the final.
