Semi-finals preview

The cream has risen to the top at Leicester's Morningside Arena with the top three on the PDC Order of Merit all making the semi-finals of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix.

Tournament favourite and 2020 champion Gerwyn Price is first up on the oche and while the Iceman deserves to be favourite to reach the final, he'll be wary of the threat posed by in-form Nathan Aspinall.

The Asp has won four of the last seven meetings between the pair and he has banged in five 180s in each of his last two matches - 3-2 victories over Danny Noppert and Martin Lukeman.

This best-of-seven-set clash could go down to the wire and if it does, expect the maximum count to nudge over the 10.5 mark.

Two tungsten titans face off in tonight's second semi-final where Michael van Gerwen is given the nod ahead of Peter Wright.

MVG has won his last five meetings with Snakebite and his doubling - so important in the double in, double out World Grand Prix format - was excellent in his quarter-final win over Chris Dobey.

Van Gerwen averaged a mighty 99.33 to defeat Hollywood 3-1 and a repeat of that performance should see him tee up a tilt at a sixth World Grand Prix crown.
