Peter Wright v Glen Durrant

The classy quartet of Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright and Glen Durrant are the last arrowsmiths standing in the BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts and it could pay to expect two closely-fought semi-finals.

Wright and Durrant get the action underway and much had been made of Duzza supposedly struggling his way through to the last-four.

Durrant was beaten 5-3 by Michael Smith in his opening group-stage contest but then went on to beat Martin Schindler 5-4 and Nathan Aspinall 5-0 to qualify from a tough section.

The Middlesbrough man got past the in-form Gabriel Clemens 10-9 in the knockout stages and then got his revenge on Smith with a 16-12 win in the quarter finals.

Duzza had a checkout percentage of 50 and 55 in those two knockout contests, hitting finishes of 80, 85, 87, 92, 102, 103, 107, 110 and 132, and although those combination out-shots aren't as flashy as 180s or 100-plus averages, they win matches.

Wright had two impressive wins over Rob Cross and Dave Chisnall in the knockout rounds but he may be made to work harder by Durrant.

BoyleSports and Sky Bet make it a 10-11 shot that this best-of-31-leg match lasts for at least 28 and that looks a solid play.

Michael van Gerwen v Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price is clinging on to his Grand Slam title and although he is likely to be put under maximum pressure by Michael van Gerwen he is unlikely to relinquish his crown without a fight.

Price is arguably the biggest threat currently facing the all-conquering MVG and the Welshman showed bags of class when hammering classy chucker Gary Anderson 16-9 in the quarter-finals.

Darren Webster was frozen-out by the Iceman in the opening knockout round with Price dropping just one leg on his way to victory.

Clearly, MVG is the toughest test Price has faced but the 10-11 on offer about the Iceman getting a 4.5-leg start looks to overplay the size of the task ahead.
