Final preview

It took Gerwyn Price 20 attempts to defeat Michael van Gerwen but the Welshman finally managed to end his MVG hoodoo in the semi-finals of the BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts and now just Peter Wright stands in the way of the Iceman retaining his crown.

Price produced a performance full of fire but still managed to stay cool on the doubles under the utmost pressure. The Iceman knocked-in a 100.73 average in the clash against MVG and hit six 180s along the way.

The Welshman managed seven maximums against Gary Anderson in the quarter-finals while Wright hit just five at the same stage against Dave Chisnall and only four in his last-four contest against Glen Durrant.

Snakebite is well known for changing his darts set-up and the more bulbous barrels in operation this week leave less space in the treble-twenty bed.

It's 8-11 that Price can outscore Wright and hit the most 180s in this tasty looking final and that looks a a cracking bet.
