Zaman could lay into Sri Lankan bowlers in Dubai ODI
Opener looks at ease on international stage
Second ODI
Starts midday Monday
Babar Azam's century and a blistering cameo from Shoaib Malik helped Pakistan take a 1-0 lead in their five-match ODI series with Sri Lanka on Friday and they are 7-15 favourites for a repeat performance in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Sarfraz Ahmed's side rallied well after a 2-0 Test series defeat by the Lankans to run out comfortable 89-run victors in Dubai and their batting prowess could be the difference once again.
Veterans Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan waved goodbye to the international stage earlier this year but thanks to Azam, Ahmed Shehzad and Fakhar Zaman, the future looks bright for Pakistan.
It has taken a while for 27-year-old opener Zaman to announce himself on the international stage but he has yet to look back having been handed his chance in this summer's Champions Trophy.
A match-winning 114 in the final against India is one of three scores over 50 in his five ODIs and having played second fiddle to Azam on Friday, Zaman could take centre stage in Dubai.
He has knocks of 50 and 43 in two clashes with Sri Lanka and could continue to hold the upper hand over their attack.
Recommendation
F Zaman top Pakistan runscorer
2pts 7-2 general
