Worcestershire Rapids got back on the winning trail with a tight three-wicket win over Durham last time out and they can outperform Birmingham Bears in the Twenty20 Blast.

That victory put them second in the North Group and a win in front of the TV cameras will boost their confidence before Sunday's showdown with Lancashire.

The Rapids will have to make do without Callum Ferguson, who is returning to Australia for personal reasons, but Hamish Rutherford is a competent replacement.

Martin Guptill and Riki Wessels have, for a large part, impressed at the top of the order with totals of 232 and 225 runs in the competition this year.

They can cause problems for a Bears bowling attack who have allowed Leicestershire (189), Yorkshire (177) and Nottinghamshire (184) to put on decent scores in matches earlier this month.

There are five other Blast encounters including Kent v Surrey and Durham v Yorkshire.
