Wanindu Hasaranga top Sri Lanka wicket-taker
2pts 9-4 general

Match preview

Wanindu Hasaranga starred with bat and ball in Sri Lanka's defeat to England on Monday and there is still some juice in his odds to be the Lankans' top wicket-taker against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi.

Defending champions the Windies kept alive their slender hopes of making the semi-finals with a three-run win over struggling Bangladesh last time out but their power-packed batting unit has failed to click on sluggish pitches in the UAE.

Hasaranga dismissed Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow in the Powerplay against England, returning to get rid of skipper Eoin Morgan late in the innings, and no bowler in the world has taken more than his 34 wickets in Twenty20 internationals this year.

The attack-minded leg-spinner rocked the West Indies in March's series in Antigua, taking eight wickets for just 42 runs in 12 overs. Those figures were particularly impressive considering that fellow spinner Akila Dananjaya was hit for six sixes in an over by Kieron Pollard in the first T20.
