Virat Kohli scored 200 and India won by an innings the last time they played a Test match in Antigua but they face an improving West Indies side at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Since that 2016 drubbing, the Windies thrashed Bangladesh – bowled out for 43 in the first innings of last year’s North Sound Test – and hammered England by ten wickets in February.

Their fast bowlers took all 40 wickets to fall in those victories and Kemar Roach, Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel have the quality to rattle a reshuffled Indian batting unit.

India are clear favourites, but so were England before they were blown away in the first two Tests of this year’s series in the Caribbean.

Holder has reinvigorated the West Indies as a Test team and at the prices they merit a small bet to upset India in the opening game of this two-match series.

They suffered two thumping defeats in India in October 2018 but should be a very different proposition on a quick pitch in the Caribbean.

The Windies bat deep – skipper Holder made a double-century from number eight against England while Roston Chase and wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich also made tons in that series – and any complacency from India could be punished by the home side.

Recommendation
West Indies
1pt 4-1 general
