Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Renegades preview

Sydney Sixers have reached the last three Big Bash finals, winning two and losing to Perth Scorchers last season, and they have hit their stride after a slow start to the 2022-23 campaign.

The Sixers lost their first two matches before a six-run win over Hobart Hurricanes and a seven-wicket victory against Melbourne Stars on Monday but they look too short at 4-6 to complete the hat-trick against Melbourne Renegades.

The Renegades, with former Australia T20 captain Aaron Finch and West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell in a powerful middle-order, won their first three games of the campaign and really should have made it four in a row against the Hurricanes last time out.

Having bowled out a top-class Hobart batting unit for 122, the Renegades lost a wicket in each of the first three overs of their run-chase and ended up eight runs short but their bowlers should relish a crack at an inconsistent Sixers top order.
