Australia won their one-day series in Sri Lanka 4-1 and the Aussies are 4-7 to continue their white-ball dominance with victory in the first of two Twenty20 internationals in Pallekele.

It’s the farewell series for Tillakaratne Dilshan, a dashing batsman, canny off-spinner and brilliant fielder who has shone for Sri Lanka in all forms of the game. The 39-year-old is 7-2 favourite to top-score today, as he did in the last Twenty20 match at the Kandy venue against the West Indies in November 2015.

Dilshan’s innings of 56 was a rarity in that game as it did not include a six but 22 maximums were struck, including four (out of 13 balls faced) by home skipper Angelo Mathews and six by Windies opener Andre Fletcher.
