Sunday's Big Bash preview

The top two teams in the Big Bash face each other on Sunday morning and both the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers should be confident of claiming a notable win in a repeat of last year's final.

Perth took home the title on that occasion and both teams have demonstrated great acumen for the chase in their recent matches.

The Scorchers hardly had to break sweat in overhauling Sydney Thunder's 111 on Friday, eclipsing that mediocre tally in just 13 overs, and that came after two victories over Brisbane Heat by eight and seven-wicket margins.

Victories for the Sixers against the Thunder and Melbourne Stars were also straightforward, so it is easy to understand why bookmakers are struggling to separate the pair.

So turning to the top runscorer markets could be the best way forward and Sixers' middle-order man Jordan Silk is of interest to make the biggest contribution for his side at 5-1.

Silk was unbeaten on 59 as he helped guide his team to victory over the Thunder and he has passed at least 30 in five of his last ten innings in the competition.

He was also going great guns on 41 in a recent defeat to the Brisbane Heat before an outrageous boundary catch from Michael Neser ended his innings, so he is plainly seeing the ball well.

In Sunday's early contest, Hobart are 8-11 to claim their fifth victory of the competition against the 11-10 Thunder.
