Match preview

Having shared an entertaining Test series 1-1, Sri Lanka and New Zealand meet in the first of three Twenty20 internationals in Pallekele although scattered thunderstorms could disrupt Sunday's game.

The last T20 international at the venue, in 2016, featured an amazing innings of 145 not out from 65 balls by Glenn Maxwell at the top of the Australia order.

New Zealand opener Colin Munro had a tough time at the 50-over World Cup in England but the powerful left-hander remains a dangerous hitter in Twenty20 cricket.

Munro boosted his confidence with some brutal innings for Brampton Wolves in the Global T20 in Canada and scored 48 off 27, retired out, in Thursday's warm-up match against a Sri Lanka Board President's 11. He also cracked an unbeaten 58 in the Black Caps' ten-wicket win over Sri Lanka at the World Cup.
