Saturday preview

Perth Scorchers have made a strong start to their Big Bash League title defence but they were comfortably beaten by Sydney Thunder last time out and punters may want to think twice about backing them against Brisbane Heat on Saturday.

The availability of Scorchers pace ace Jhye Richardson remains uncertain after he limped off in the defeat to the Thunder, while Faf du Plessis has departed for the upcoming South African Twenty20 League.

Opening batsman Adam Lyth is also set to leave the Scorchers shortly to play in the UAE's International League, although it is fair to say some Perth fans won't be losing too much sleep over his departure.

Yorkshire opener Lyth has had a poor BBL campaign, scoring just 73 runs in seven innings at an average of 10.42.

He will be hoping for a change of fortune before he jets off for the UAE but in-form Heat bowlers Michael Neser and Mark Steketee won't make life easy for him, so backing Lyth to be dismissed for under 20 runs could be the way to go.
