Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday afternoon in a rematch of their IPL playoff clash from last season.

The Knight Riders came out on top that day en route to the final, where they were beaten by Chennai Super Kings. Kolkata gained a measure of revenge for that final defeat in the opening game of the new season with a six-wicket win.

Bangalore, meanwhile, got off to a losing start as they saw their total of 205-2 chased down by the Punjab Kings in their opening encounter.

So it is somewhat of a surprise to see Kolkata chalked up as the outsiders for this encounter, although there may be better value to be had in the top Kolkata bowler market.

West Indies international Sunil Narine has been with the Knight Riders since 2012 and is among the top ten wicket-takers in the IPL’s history.

The spinner’s consistency has been key to the success of his side and he was once again just outside the top ten for most wickets in last year’s tournament.

Narine went wicketless against Chennai but conceded only 15 runs from his four-over spell and could reap the rewards against Kolkata on this occasion if he can tie an end down in similar fashion.
