The defending champions and the most successful Big Bash League franchise meet in Perth and Rashid Khan looks a great bet to be the Strikers' top bowler.

Ace Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid was the joint-leading wicket-taker in last year's tournament with 18 victims, underpinning Adelaide's ascent to the crown, and he has begun the new campaign well. He took 3-19 in the Strikers' solid opening-night success in Brisbane and 2-13 in a close defeat to the Melbourne Renegades.

Seamers did the damage when the Scorchers subsided to 103 in their defeat to the Renegades but it was the slow left-arm trickery of Steve O'Keefe which most undermined their chase of 165 against the Sydney Sixers.
