Match preview

Strong batting performances saw Rajasthan Royals win their first two games in this year’s IPL and a repeat of those may give them the edge over Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Jos Buttler hit the first century of this year’s tournament against Mumbai Indians and also chipped in with a knock of 35 in their opener so is clearly in good nick.

RCB failed to defend a total of 205 in their opener before squeezing past Kolkata Knight Riders in their second game in a low-scoring clash.

The lack of a convincing performance so far from RCB is something of a worry and they will again be without Glenn Maxwell, who is not available until their next clash due to a ruling made by Cricket Australia.

Winning the toss is likely to be key as all three games so far at the Wankhede Stadium have been won by the side batting second.

The Royals have seemed the more balanced team in this year’s campaign and are fancied to continue their good start with another victory.
