Rajasthan Royals have experimented with a fluid batting order and tactically retiring batsmen out in this season's IPL but they won't be tinkering with Jos Buttler's role in the team.

The England man is worth backing to continue his fine start to the 2022 season by top-scoring for the Royals against Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium, where Lucknow opener KL Rahul scored a century against Mumbai on Saturday.

Buttler, like Rahul, is one of the most reliable openers in the IPL and he has relished the return to Twenty20 cricket after scoring just 107 runs in eight innings in last winter's Ashes series in Australia.

He has started the campaign with scores of 35, 100, 70 not out, 13 and 54, scoring at a strike-rate of 152.8. His Royals teammates have scored just two half-centuries between them and Buttler can lead the way against a Kolkata attack featuring overseas stars Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell.
