Oval Invincibles v Birmingham Phoenix preview

Oval Invincibles and Birmingham Phoenix have both won three of their first five matches in the men's Hundred and are hoping to boost their playoff chances with a victory at The Oval.

The Invincibles had won three on the trot before conceding 181-4 in a defeat at Trent Rockets last time out while the Phoenix, beaten finalists last summer, are 13-10 to triumph in south London.

Bet365 are dangling a tempting 9-1 about Jordan Cox top-scoring for the home side and that is worth a bet, albeit with the caveat that he has batted in only three of the Invincibles' five matches.

The Kent youngster has grabbed every opportunity he's been given, however, scoring 39 off 30 balls and 48 off 29 in two innings at The Oval and smashing 61 not out from just 33 deliveries, batting at number five, in last week's loss at Trent Bridge.

Birmingham Phoenix Women are 21-20 to make it four wins out of four and they are worth backing to continue their impressive start to The Hundred.

In their most recent victory, a tense five-run success against Northern Superchargers, each of their top five batters scored at least 19 and their bowlers held their nerve well after an early assault from Australia star Alyssa Healy.

Oval Invincibles are a useful side who have won two of their first three games but they made heavy weather of chasing down a modest target of 113 against the Rockets last time out, sealing victory with just one ball to spare, and could come up short against the league leaders.
