Coral and Ladbrokes are paying out on India to win the Test series, as well as a drawn series, after the fifth and final match at Old Trafford was postponed indefinitely on Friday.

India led the series 2-1 after their impressive victory at The Oval in the fourth Test but several members of their coaching staff tested positive for Covid-19 and there were concerns that a further outbreak could leave them unable to field an 11 in Manchester.

The ECB and the BCCI are keen to find a window in which to play the fifth Test but that may not be until India return to England for a limited-overs series next summer.

Coral and Ladbrokes will pay out punters who backed either India to win the series, a drawn series, a 2-1 India win or a 2-2 correct score while other bookmakers are waiting for an official decision over whether the final Test will be played at a later date.

The Indian Premier League season, which was halted due to coronavirus earlier this year, is set to resume in the UAE on September 19 and India and England head the betting for the Twenty20 World Cup which starts on October 17.

England's Test players are then scheduled to head to Australia for a five-Test series although there are concerns over whether the Ashes tour will go ahead given the strict coronavirus protocols in cities such as Melbourne and Sydney. England are 9-2 to beat the 4-9 Aussies and a drawn series is a 13-2 shot.
