Match preview

It was a shock when five-time Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians failed to make the playoffs last season but they are in danger of doing so again in 2022.

Despite the majority of matches taking place in their own city this year, Mumbai are yet to get off the mark in this term's IPL, losing all four of their opening games.

Sub-par performances from their bowlers have been particularly instrumental to their stuttering start and that is something which must be improved if they are to keep tabs on the resurgent Liam Livingstone in their match with Punjab Kings in Pune.

Punjab Kings have not been great with two wins and two defeats to start the season by they at least have an in-form batsman in the form of Livingstone.

The Englishman started the season slowly but has struck 60 and 64 in his last two matches for the Kings, taking his season total to 162 runs, and he can score at least 25 runs against struggling Mumbai.
