Melbourne Stars v Sydney Sixers preview

Sydney Sixers beat the Melbourne Stars cosily enough when they met at the SCG last week but there are no guarantees they can complete the double at the MCG on Friday.

The Melbourne side are struggling with just two wins from seven starts.

They have lost four of their last five and their only win in that period was a narrow six-run success against Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval.

The Sixers, in contrast, are flying after losing their first two, though they were denied a run chase last time out when the weather wrecked their prospects of going after Brisbane Heat at the North Sydney Oval.

But the worry for Sydney is that the Heat, led by Colin Munro, were able to pile up 147 in just 13 overs off a bowling attack featuring veteran spinner Steve O'Keefe that was pretty undisciplined.

The ropes were in but Brisbane cleared them 11 times in their truncated innings and Melbourne have to hope the visitors bowl as poorly against them.
