Match preview

New franchise Lucknow Super Giants made an underwhelming start in the Indian Premier League, slipping to 29-4 on their way to a five-wicket defeat to fellow rookies Gujarat Titans on Monday.

Lucknow are outsiders for their second game against defending champions Chennai Super Kings, who have a point to prove after starting their title defence with a tame loss to Kolkata.

The balance of the Chennai 11 will be helped by Moeen Ali's emergence from quarantine and the England all-rounder is 10-1 to be named player of the match at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium.

Lucknow's Sri Lankan paceman Dushmantha Chameera caught the eye against Gujarat, dismissing classy opener Shubman Gill and producing a sharp yorker to get rid of Vijay Shankar.

Chameera, who had an impressive Twenty20 series in Australia in February and has dismissed India ace Rohit Sharma six times in T20 internationals, bowled only three of his four allotted overs but Super Giants skipper KL Rahul surely won't repeat that miscalculation.
