It was a surprise for many in the Indian Premier League last season when a team of Mumbai Indians' pedigree failed to make the playoffs and the franchise have shown little sign of improvement at the start of the 2022 campaign.

Mumbai have lost their opening two matches against decent Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals sides this season with their middle and lower-order batsmen having failed to impress on both occasions.

Consequently, they could be worth opposing against Kolkata Knight Riders, who have won two of their opening three matches, overpowering Punjab Kings by six wickets last time out.

The Knight Riders have looked especially good with the ball with paceman Umesh Yadav having taken his wicket tally for the season to eight with an inspired 4-23 against the Kings.

He should cause plenty of problems for an unsettled Mumbai batting line-up and Kolkata look a decent bet to win this game in Pune.
