Match preview

Lahore Qalandars booked their semi-final place with a stirring nine-wicket win over Multan on Sunday but Australian opener Chris Lynn, who smashed 113 off just 55 balls in the run-chase, will not be available for the last-four clash with Karachi Kings.

Lynn, along with fellow overseas signings David Wiese and Seekkuge Prasanna, decided to return home after the league stage of the tournament and the Qalandars will be significantly weakened by their absences.

Karachi ended their regular-season campaign with defeat to Quetta but they head to Lahore as favourites to reach the final.

A major reason for their lofty expectations is the presence of Babar Azam at the top of the batting order. The elegant, ice-cool right-hander is the top-rated international Twenty20 batsman in the ICC's rankings and he maintains his high standards in franchise cricket.

Babar was the leading runscorer in last year's T20 Blast in England, despite his county Somerset failing to qualify for the quarter-finals, and he is top of the PSL batting chart with 345 runs in nine innings. No other player has reached 300.

That tally includes knocks of 38 and 69 not out in the two league meetings with Lahore and the brilliant Babar looks a tempting price at 8-1 to produce a man-of-the-match performance against the Qalanders.
