Jets value to land raid on Vikings

Durham beat the Red Rose of Lancashire in the Championship at Southport yesterday and they look a value bet at 11-10 to enjoy success in tonight’s T20 Blast battle with the White Rose of Yorkshire at Headingley.

The Jets are bidding to make it four completed shortest-format game wins in a row and shore up their place in the North Group top four that leads to a quarter-final berth. And that run began with a six-wicket Duckworth-Lewis victory over the Vikings at the Riverside.

Whether Durham would have chased down their target of 135 – at 68 for 3 just before halfway – last month is conjecture but their bowlers certainly got on top quickly with Chris Rushworth claiming the scalps of Adam Lyth and Kane Williamson. And they maintained the grip through fellow quicks Paul Coughlin and Usman Arshad plus leg-spinner Scott Borthwick. Ryan Pringle was also set at the crease on 20.
