India won a run-laden Twenty20 series against the West Indies 2-1 but the three-ODI contest between the teams is likely to be less competitive.

The series begins in Chennai and the hosts are just 1-5 to make a winning start against a Windies side who tend to produce their best performances in the 20-over format.

India's imposing batting unit is set for a reshuffle as Mayank Agarwal, fresh from an epic 243 against Bangladesh in last month's Test series, is poised for an ODI debut at the top of the order.

Opposing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the top India runscorer market is not a sensible long-term strategy but odds of 5-1 about the confident Agarwal outshining his teammates are too big to pass up.

He has grabbed his chance at international level, averaging 67 after nine Tests, and his domestic 50-over record is excellent as well, with 13 centuries in 79 innings – the most recent of which, 120 for India C against India A, came in October.
