It is not hard to see why India are 1-9 favourites to beat Bangladesh in their first Test at Indore.

Virat Kohli's men have comfortably won all five of their five-dayers since the World Cup, including their three at home to South Africa last month, and claimed a 321-run victory over New Zealand in the sole previous Test at the Holkar Cricket Stadium.

India also beat the Tigers, who are without banned all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, by 208 runs in their last Test meeting - and their only home clash in Hyderabad two years ago, taking their five-day head-to-head record to seven wins and two draws from nine.

Middle-order mainstay Ajinkya Rahane looks worth a wager to hit a first-innings fifty. Rahane finished the series win over the Proteas with knocks of 59 and 115 and made 81, 102, 24 and 64 not out in August's two Tests in the Caribbean.

Rahane also hit 188 against the Black Caps in Indore three years ago and cracked 82 against Bangladesh in Hyderabad.
