Essex began their One-Day Cup campaign with a comprehensive six-wicket win at Middlesex but the Eagles face a tricky test away to Gloucestershire.

Chris Dent's men also started well, chasing down a target of 265 for the loss of only two wickets against Glamorgan, with Dent (80), fellow opener George Hankins (85) and number three Benny Howell (68 not out) making big contributions.

Paceman Daniel Worrall, who played three ODIs for Australia in 2016, impressed with 3-47 including the prize wickets of Shaun Marsh and Colin Ingram and Gloucestershire may have been underrated by bookmakers.

Yorkshire's Tom Kohler-Cadmore smashed 164 in his first innings of the summer to set up a thumping 142-run win over Durham in the North Group on Friday.

The opener, along with Adam Lyth and Cheteshwar Pujara, could get more joy against a Warwickshire attack who conceded 357-8 on their 50-over bow against Derbyshire.

Yorkshire's bowling also looks strong, with Steve Patterson and Tim Bresnan leading the pace attack and Adil Rashid, who is focusing on white-ball cricket this summer, claiming 4-47 from his ten overs against Durham.
