Friday preview

The Big Bash League's all-time leading runscorer Chris Lynn joined Adelaide Strikers ahead of the new season and the big-hitter's influence on the team is already noticeable.

The Strikers have started the new season with three wins from three matches, destroying Sydney Thunder by 124 runs after bowling them out for only 15 in their second game, and Lynn has played an integral role.

The 32-year-old has posted scores of 41, 36 and 28 in his first three games and could be worth a bet to top score against his former side Brisbane Heat.

Lynn averaged only 17.9 in a poor Heat team last season before being released but looks like a man with a point to prove this campaign.

And that mentality will only be heightened when he comes up against his former team, who have started the 2022-23 season with back-to-back defeats to last term's basement boys Melbourne Renegades.

Earlier on Friday, defending champions Perth Scorchers lock horns with Melbourne Stars with both teams having picked up one win and one defeat from two matches.

The Scorchers put up a fight in their latest loss to Hobart Hurricanes, though, losing by only eight runs and they are 7-10 favourites to prevail.
