Third T20 preview

Jos Buttler's tenure as England's white-ball captain has started with successive Twenty20 defeats to India and a series whitewash could be on the cards at Trent Bridge.

India clinched the series with a 49-run thrashing of England at Edgbaston on Saturday, having won the opener in Hampshire by 50 runs, and they are 8-11 to make it 3-0.

A golden duck from Jason Roy set the tone for England's uninspiring chase in Nottingham last time out and the T20 opener has not been in good form.

He is averaging 19.14 in T20 internationals in 2022, having scored a miserly 12 runs in his last three matches for England and he could again struggle against an India attack oozing confidence.

Roy made a tortuous four off 16 deliveries in the first T20 international at the Rose Bowl and he is worth backing to score 22 runs or fewer at Trent Bridge.
