First ODI preview

England Women ran out 2-1 winners in their recent Twenty20 series with India, claiming a seven-wicket victory in Thursday's decider in Bristol, and they are expected to follow up by winning the first of three one-day internationals against the same opponents at Hove.

With captain Heather Knight and Nat Sciver still absent, Amy Jones again skippers the side while teenage sensations Alice Capsey and Freya Kemp have earned their first call-ups to the 50-over squad.

Capsey, in particular, has gone from strength to strength this year, taking eight wickets and scoring 118 runs for champions Oval Invincibles in the Women's Hundred, having risen to prominence in the 2021 tournament.

The 18-year-old is considered one of the next big things in English cricket and was influential in the T20 win over India on Thursday, hitting a match-winning unbeaten 38 from 24 balls.

Sure to be full of confidence, she is worth a bet to score at least 26 runs in Hove.
